Hi, I'm Denise and I welcome you to the Little Song Art and Fused Glass Jewelry website.  I am a San Antonio native whose roots travel seven generations deep in Texas soil.
Steeped in the culture and traditions of my native Texas, and feeling the whisper of my  Cherokee lineage, I've always been deeply affected by my surroundings and the beauty  around me.

At the age of 7, I decided to become an artist. For many years I was mentored by my artist/silversmith aunt, Madge Matcek, and learned Native American jewelry making and painting. While in high school, I also attended the Southwest Art and Craft Center for two years under the Tomorrow's Artist Scholarship program. I attended North Texas State and East Texas State Universities, majoring in Fine Art.

After a successful 20-plus year (yikes!) career as an Art Director, Designer and Illustrator, my focus has shifted back to the fine arts, primarily painting and creating jewelry in fused glass, sterling silver and semi-precious stones.

I have fallen in love with the beauty of glass. I am fascinated by the depths of beauty in a transparent medium. I couple ancient materials, love of nature, and modern, elegant design aesthetics to create these treasures and adornments.

I hope my creations remind you of the allure of nature around you and reflect the deeper beauty that is found within.

FUSED GLASS

Each creation is unique and no design is ever exactly duplicated.  With the properties of fused dichroic glass and the composition of materials, the process renders a unique and exciting design.  Each item is hand made with meticulous attention to detail and to color composition. There are a variety of designs to suit any taste and for any occasion.

PAINTINGS

I have murals and paintings on display in corporate and private collections throughout North America and Sweden. My latest public works can be seen in San Antonio at the new Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union Creswell Center and at Thousand Oaks Elementary.
